Interior Designer

We are looking for a creative design professional with a passion for delivering exceptional client experience to join our Design team.

 

About The Role

  • Employment Type : Full Time

    Salary : $42,000 - $60,000 (varies with experience)

    Location : Fort Worth, TX

    • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or 1+ years experience working at an interior design firm.

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, SketchUp, InDesign and/or similar design softwares.

    • Strong design portfolio

    • Strong organizational and communication skills

    • Proven project management skills

    • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices in interior design

  • Sales and Client Experience

    • Meet with potential design clients in order to understand their vision and goals.

    • Propose and sell design services and packages that meet a potential or current client’s needs.

    • Works Directly with the Construction Director/Principal Designer on all incoming leads when needed

    Interior Design Execution

    • Outline client design objectives and goals.

    • Determine and communicate realistic project cost and timelines.

    • Conceptualize and communicate design direction and vision through the creation of mood boards and storyboards.

    • Determine design selections to develop a client’s vision within budget.

    • Source materials and products.

    • Utilize computer applications and software in the design process.

    • Create floor plans and elevations using CAD.

    • Contribute to the 6th Ave Homes Design Team by helping refine and develop systems and processes to continually elevate the interior design experience for clients.

    • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills – Success in this role only comes alongside effective communication.

    • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving – Sometimes problems happen. This position requires troubleshooting, problem solving, and process creation to help prevent those same issues from arising in the future.

    • Self-Motivation – We don’t micromanage, so self motivation is key to serve clients and the team well.

    • Team Player – Working with and supporting others is a key part of this role.

    • Conflict Management – It’s not always fun, but this role will require the ability to manage tense situations and frustrated clients, team members, or contractors.

    • Adaptability - When problems arise or plans change, this role requires you to adapt quickly to focus on the urgent task at hand.

    • You’ve been called a perfectionist more than once, but as someone who always aims for excellence, you don’t mind one bit. In fact, you take that as a compliment!

    • You love follow-through and don’t feel quite right when something is left incomplete.

    • You’re often told that you’re a great listener, problem solver, troubleshooter, and communicator. Creating solutions to problems in people's homes and in business is incredibly satisfying for you!
